Managing your account#

This guide describes how to perform common account management tasks.

Managing account users#

Invite users to your account#

If you have the Admin role in your account, you can invite users to join the account.

Warning

Be sure to invite only trusted persons to your account!

Currently, all user roles have permission to create, update, and delete Lambda Cloud resources. For more information about the permissions each role has, see Access and security > Account-level roles.

To invite other users to your account:

  1. Navigate to Account settings > Users in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. Click Invite. A modal appears.
  3. In the Invite teammate dialog, enter the email of the person you'd like to invite and select the role you'd like to give them. Currently, you can assign one of two roles: Admin or Member.
  4. Click Send invitation to send the invite. If the invitee accepts the request, they'll be added to your account and its default workspace.

Note

You can delete a pending invitation by clicking in the row where the person is listed and then choosing Delete invitation.

Update a user's role#

If you have the Admin role in your account, you can update the roles of other users in the account.

To update another user's role:

  1. Navigate to Account settings > Users in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. In the row containing the user's details, click . A context menu appears.
  3. Click Change to {Role}. If the user is a Member, {Role} will be Admin. If the user is an Admin, {Role} will be Member.

On success, a notice appears confirming that the role was changed.

Remove a user from your account#

If you have the Admin role in your account, you can remove other users from the account.

To remove a user from your account:

  1. Navigate to Account settings > Users in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. In the row containing the user's details, click . A context menu appears.
  3. Click Remove member. A modal appears.
  4. Review the warning text.
  5. If you still want to proceed, type remove member into the input field and then click Remove member to finish removing the user.

Managing your account#

Rename your account#

If you have the Admin role in your account, you can rename the account.

To rename an account:

  1. Navigate to Account settings > General in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. In the Details > Name section, click Edit.
  3. Edit or replace the name in the Name input.
  4. Click Update name to update the account name.

Close your account#

If you have the Admin role in your account, you can close the account.

Warning

When you close an account, the other account members lose access to the account, and all of the account's resources and data are deleted.

To close an account:

  1. Navigate to Account settings > General in the Lambda Cloud console.
  2. In the Security > Close account section, click Close. A modal appears.
  3. Review the warning text.
  4. If you still want to proceed, type close account into the input field and then click Close account to finish closing the account.
